(Competition is open to gents, ladies or mixed.)
This competition is a walk on open and entries will only be accepted on the day.
Entries will be accepted in person at the clubhouse or by telephone (01387 810552).
Tee times available from 8am – 2pm.
Clubhouse will be open from 7am to accept entries.

Entry fee will be £10 per pair.

• The competition will be a Stroke Competition played over 18 Holes.
• The competition will be open to Competitors of 18 years of age and over, full members of a recognised golf club and of amateur status.
• Maximum handicap allowed to Gents will be 24, Ladies 32.
• Total fee of £10 (includes entry fee of £2)
• Ties for the trophies will be decided according to the results over the last 9, 6 , 3 or last hole.
• The committee of Lochmaben Golf Club reserves the right to reject any entry and to alter and amend any of the conditions. The decision of the committee in matters of dispute shall be final.

Kev and Susan win the Anvil

On Saturday the 14th August Kevin and Susan Clark romped away with the Anvil Trophy with a magnificent 69-7=72.They went out in 27 which is 6 under!! Scratch winners were Ian Fraser and Diane McDonald with a fabulous 69.

Ladies Kirk Loch Competion a massive success

On Wednesday the 4th August the Lochmaben Ladies once again hosted a Charity Texas Scramble, with 57 teams playing. Jane Reid and Jackie Bell, along with all the ladies, the sponsors, the Greenkeepers, the clubhouse staff all deserve a massive vote of thanks for making the day a huge success, culminating in a cheque for £3250 being presented to the Breast Cancer Unit in DGRI.

The winners on the day with a great score of 61.2 were from Carllise, and were F Hetherington, L Jones , B Davidson and S Coulthart.

Second were Trudys Pink Ladies from Silverdale/Liverpool with 62, third Maggies Magentas form Kirkcudbright with 62.6 and fourth were from Lochamben, In the Pink with a 63.

Helen Common won the Golden Girls on Saturday the 23rd May with a great score of 71.

Winners of Kathleens Cup, Suzie Smith, Fiona Smith(missing from picture) and Margaret Scott, with the trophy presented by Kathleens daughter Finella.

Campbell and Cruikshank winners, David Wight and Barry Scott, with Captain Munro

Junior Gala Cup winner Liam O’Brien. Seniors was won by Jim and Brenda Johnstone

League team latest

On Monday the 10th May, Lochmaben took on Dumfries and County League team. Lochmaben unfortunately lost scoring 2 1/2 to the County’s 3 1/2, with wins from Jim Graham ,and Craig Scobie, the half point coming from David Dickson.

The Junior League team secured an emphatic victory on monday 3rd May when they met Thornhill at home. The score was 3 1/2 to 1/2. Well done lads.

17th May both the league teams playing the Galloway. The juniors lost 4 nil. At the time of writing the seniors were 2 all with 2 more matches still out on the course. Will update as soon as I know the result…..................the result there at last was a narrow defeat for Lochmaben.

24th May, the seniors were playing the Pines at home, with Lochmaben putting in a solid performance to win 5 1. The Juniors, playing away at Powfoot were unfortunately beaten 4 0.

31st May…Seniors defeated 1/2 to 5 1/2 away at Powfoot. The Juniors secured a half against the Pines at home, with great wins for Leon Ramsay and Chis Shearman.

14th June, the Juniors were beaten 4-0 by the County, but turned out on the 21st June to secure an emphatic victory over Lockerbie.

Twighlight Golf times available

The very reasonable cost to our visitors will be fifteen pounds each or forty pounds for a fourball.

Junior Prizewinners 2009

A very successful and well attended junior prizegiving was held on Saturday 7th November. Many of Maitland Pollocks mini golfers joined the 2009 prizewinners, along with several parents and friends, for a fun evening involving quizzes and games.Congratulations to Taylor Edwards the 2009 junior champion, as well as all of the other worthy winners. It was encouraging to see so many young golfers in the clubhouse, hopefully they will all be competing for prizes next season.

Saturday the 31st October saw the winners of 2009 presented with their prizes. The evening was well attended, ending with an energetic dance with a lively band. The joint Strictly winners that evening were Craig Scobie and Mark Smith, who did their best to sweep all of the ladies off their feet!!

2009 Club Champions

On a balmy day in July the finalists in the club championships stepped up to the mark, and battled for the prestigious honour, with Taylor Edwards, Jim Graham and Mary Aitchison winning on the day over runners up, Leslie Irvine, David Dickson, and Fiona Irvine. This is not new news, but some photos have just been unearthed, and are worthy of sharing!!

Scott goes solo!

Lochmaben club member Kenny Scott reached the national finals of the Daily Telegraph 4BBB match play after overcoming a Ranfurly Castle pair at Lochmaben last Sunday.Kennys regular partner brother Barry, was unfortunately on holiday and the opposition would not move the date, which meant Kenny played against both, ably assisted by caddie Barry McKenzie. A tight match ensued with Kenny overcoming the Ranfurly side at the 19th hole
Kenny now plays in the final at Leven Links on October 23rd, by which time Barry will be suitably refreshed and able to team up - if Kenny needs him!!

Best wishes go to both players for the national final, with the winners heading for sunny Portugal for the Grand Finals.

Baggy drops out!

One less competitor for the recently played prestigious Lennox Trophy was last years club Champion Ainsley Bagnall, suffering cracked ribs two days before the event after falling from a plum tree. Baggy was not to be denied his day in the sun however, and was on hand to carry out supporting duties for his brother (aka Baggy) and dog walking duties for the Graham family, bar takings were also well up on the day!!

Lochmaben duo 5th in Belhaven final

David Wright and Kenny Bell came 5th in the final of the Belhaven Tournament, played recently at Kingsbarns . The pair qualified following a successful day at the regional qualifier at Prestonfields, Edinburgh, where David Wright , this time partnering Dougie Irvine, came in equal first.
