Awash is what also happened at midday when a mini monsoon occurred, play had to be suspended for an hour or so but thanks to the fantastic green staff who came to the rescue, play resumed and tee times nearly caught up with the original play. There were 64 teams this year and every team made an effort with pink certainly being the colour of the day. The on course quiz proved to be a challenge once more with some hilarious answers, Betty`s famous pink quiz raised over £500 prior to the competition, May Austin baked and baked pink goodies , the ongoing raffle and the star prize raffle at the end of the night kept the pink theme momentum building. The competition this year raised £ 5000 for Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary Breast Cancer Care. The night was a huge success, helped out by some very generous raffle prizes, with a grand total of £650 raised towards the ladies Breast Cancer Charity fund.  Jackie and Jane would like to thank all of those who helped, and of course a huge huge thanks to Nelson and his team. Many of Maitland Pollocks mini golfers joined the 2009 prizewinners, along with several parents and friends, for a fun evening involving quizzes and games.Congratulations to Taylor Edwards the 2009 junior champion, as well as all of the other worthy winners.
